Brian Hamill

After graduating with a Business Studies degree in 1986, Brian looked for career alternatives after he’d come to terms with the fact that his ambitions to realise Ireland's national rugby aspirations might not happen in the immediate future.

He found the murky world of headhunting to his liking and became an aspiring entrepreneur at the ripe old age of 24.

A seminal point in his career was the creation and subsequent sale of his firm Walker Hamill for a substantial sum in 1998, which allowed him the freedom to focus on the creation of Imprint Plc, the first start-up recruitment company to be floated on AIM.

One advantage of having been in the industry for so long is that the newly qualified accountants Brian placed in his early 20s are now CEOs and CFOs of FTSE100 businesses and also key clients of WoodHamill.

This network coupled with his love of entrepreneurial businesses has led him to specialise primarily in senior board positions and the private equity sector.

An enthusiastic but inconsistent golfer and a dreadful backgammon participant, his primary leisure pursuit is now the collecting and drinking of copious amounts of fine wine.
